ESL / English Immersion & US Culture Studies - Specialized Private Sessions

Cross-cultural coaching is a process in which an (ESL) language coach helps individuals to identify their language and cultural goals, overcome obstacles, and make positive changes in their lives.

In an ESL language & cross-cultural coaching session, you can expect to work in collaboration to:

• identify current language and/or cultural challenges 
• identify both short-term and long term goals
• discuss & practice strategies to actively work toward reducing or overcoming language and cultural obstacles 
• discuss & practice strategies to accomplishing both immediate and long-term goals

Your coach will provide guidance, support, and accountability to help you achieve your goals.

The practices applied  during the  ESL language & cross-cultural coaching program depends on the individual and are intentionally personalized to serve their specific timeline, circumstances, needs, and goals. 

Goals can include (but are not limited to):

• increased confidence in conversation (in specific areas, or in general) 
• ease of settling in and accessing/using reliable resources (for newly relocated non-native speakers) 
• increased understanding of cultural (or business) practices
• expanded vocabulary (in specific areas, or in general) 
• improved pronunciation 
• expanded understanding of specific terminology (cultural, business, or academic) 
• improved grammar/ writing
• assistance with writing
• assistance with preparation for projects or presentations
• and for C-Level Executives: business phrases, terminology, and a high level understanding & application of US business culture, laws and strategies

Approaches can include (but are not limited to) immersion through: 

• Conversation 
• Reading
• Writing
• Social Activities
• Music/Film/Media 
• Local Tours & Field Trip Studies (applying all 5 senses to the learning of language & culture) 

The length of an ESL language & cross-cultural coaching program depends on the individual, their specific timeline, circumstances, needs, dedication, and goals. I have worked with some individuals for short 2-3 week "deep immersion" sessions - for example while visiting the area on vacation, or for business, and have collaborated with others for a span of many years - some on a regular (typically weekly) basis, and others as a life-time resource, on an as-needed basis (see the life-time subscription option for more info).
